Your Hard work is certainly paying off, it looks like not a lot to do to get her finished..
i like the wine bottle foil idea for hose clamps, of course that doesn't necessarily mean you had to open the whole bottle of wine, does it!!
Looking good..

Well Dede, wine will have to be sacrificed for a good cause.
This was supposed to be a quick overhaul but in the quest for perfection more bits were dismantled & reworked. The cockpit has some toggle switches installed (stretch spruce) a couple of buttons added & Johnson Klear flooded into the dials (only managed to find a clear lens for the speedometer) The greasy bits have a wash of diluted black oil paint. Have started on the roll bar extension to the engine which proved a bit of a problem as I cannot stretch a pc of spruce straight. Thinking of using solder wire, flatten & filed the top end to shape & slot into the roll bar gaps that I've made. However it may be a bit too soft for future handling. The extinguisher pull ring on the roll bar is from a coil of a retired ball point pen. Will “burn” the tail pipes & add a few more wires & brake lines to add a bit of mess to the engine bay next once I lay my hands on some telephone wires.
BTW the left front suspension broke again & the support is now strengthened with a plastic card & a new hole drilled for it. It is certainly quite a task to bring this back from the graveyard. Building a new one will be a breeze.
Can somebody confirm whether it is appropriate to add carbon decal to the inside of the black undertray.
Cheers

Brakelines completed & have to add a couple of discs on the undertray to support the wt. Unable to remove the vertical turbo mounting plate glued on 21 yrs ago, so will have to accept the very obvious misaligned right roll bar extension which are made from solder wire.

Final touches. Added fasteners & rivets to wings end plants. The big rivets are made from stretch spruce with their ends heated by a candle to form the knurled ends. Glued on, filed flat & holes drilled on.
Also been working on the "Bell" helmet (which is from the 70s era) with decals from Tamiya 314T4 which are way too blue. Will have to mask along the decals & paint it black. Anyway may end up modifying a helmet to "GPA" type used in the early 80s as soon as I lay my hand on a spare one.
The next post will probably be in the "Completed" section.
Cheers

I am so impressed with what you've done with this !! I am particularly impressed with your ingenuity in making parts completely from scratch from items around the house, not relying on aftermarket parts. Very, very cool. You oughtta be proud of this one.
Cheers,
Chris

Really nice work Mazyen...I like the detailing you've added.
Can I ask you where you got the Hexcel decals from please - been after some of these for ages and don't have an Alps printer!

Hi Vontrips,
They are on the decals sheet. Unfortunately no helmet decals included.
Cheers

Great result! I still have an unfinished kit awaiting. Also need 1 or 2 parts missing from my Revell version.

Posting pics as promised. You can see a proper gpa helmet, 1/12 decals for 1979 and 1/20 version of the 1982 set.
