Re: McLaren MP4/21 test and race version
I know, I know, as I expected, I haven't managed to make those two kits in time to still call it a 2009 GB, but - I have to finish them anyway, so what?
I skipped the chrome car to finish at least one finally, and the orange car looks to be a bit easier to finish. I am still not at the end of the road, but it's close, a few bits missing only, usually those bits that take longest time . Please have a look and feel free to give any negative comment - I know it ain't perfect!

That certainly does look nice!
One thing you maybe should have an eye on is the left front suspension. That seems to sit a bit lower than the right one :-)

I love it! The finish on the orange is fantastic. I like the body fasteners, what are they? If they're the kit p.e. fasteners, then I'm really impressed, I always have a heck of a time getting them to look right.
Nice work, looking forward to seeing it all finished and parked next to the race liveried car
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks everyone!
As I say, it's not perfect, but at least I feel to be getting better with every further assembly I manage

Yep, I am aware of that, thanks for noting. It does look slightly better in reality, but it is not yet firmly in place and can be moved into right (I hope) place after the wheels are installed.jaykay wrote:That certainly does look nice!

Thanks Chris. The body fasteners is a thing I also have a problem with every time, on this car I drilled a deep hole before painting for each fastener and used Hiro rivets instead a photoetch fasteners enclosed in the kit. It is much easier to work with as you can glue it deeper in the hole and you don't have those difficulties placing it at a right place. I know they might look a bit oversized when calculating the measures but they are certainly not bigger than the ones provided in the kit and look quite OK on the model.CBartholomew4677 wrote:I love it!
