It's so beutiful~
How did you make a tobacco decal?
Masking or using a decal made for FUJIMI 248..?
The way of using a masking tape, is difficulty. Because the real wing has 17 pieces.
I wonder how do you apply tobacco?
I used masking tape and failed.
Have a good time in your vacation~
And I expects your solution about tobacco~

Enjoying a good vacation? ^^
I had finished my work.
I was making a 248 model from FUJIMI during 6 month. It's the same model with yours.
If you visit my blog, than you can see it~!

I want it to be a reference for your work. ^^
Have a good time~ and good luck to your project~

Re: 2009 GB - WIP: Fujimi 1/20 248F1 Brazilian GP Massa
Vacation is ok, but these 2 weeks are really lost from
modeling prospective. And I'm missing it. Really
looking forward to my return to this build.
modena124, I've already learned few tricks and techniques
from your build. Great stuff. Thank you.
I'm not going to use any tabaco decals, as they weren't used in
Brazil. After looking at Tabu design's "stripes", I think I found the
way to use them. Horizontal part is too tall and I have to live
with that. However it's length can be trimmed on the front
up to the start of first vertical stripe. That extra part does
not exist on real car. I think it'll look alrigth. Not 100%
correct, but acceptable, IMO.

I want to get one of these kits but it appears there are two different Fujimi kits? There's the 90467 and the 90412... I've seen some of each advertised on eBay and they have the picture of the car from different angles on the front... Just wondered if I'm reading to much into it and they have a different picture of the car on each side of the box...

Re: 2009 GB - WIP: Fujimi 1/20 248F1 Brazilian GP Massa
Fujimi has made a few versions of the 248F1:
09041 : Brazil G.P. '06
09046 : Test Car '06
09047 : Brazil G.P. '06 (Clear Body)
There are some slight differences between the Brazil and Test versions regarding aerodynamics.
Cheers,
Chris

Almost all decals are applied now. Next will be clear coat and then CF work on suspension.
Haven't decided yet if I'm going to use decals or paint it. Will probably try both techniques.
I won't be attending model show/contest as planned, because it clashes with other hobby side (1:1 cars).
So, no deadline, no pressure. Will go on slower pace and try some other new techniques.

Not a real update, but some work was done in a mean time. Model is waiting for polishing kit to arrive, after clear
coat was put on. Didn't get great quality coat, so polishing is needed. Only couple things left before I can complete it,
polishing, new brakes and it's off to final assembly. For some reason I like these "family" shots. Could not resist and
put 248F1 beside new F2007 kit.
Sorry for image quality, didn't feel like setup light box for this mock up session.
