Reminds me of dense furnace filter material.CBartholomew4677 wrote:Looks somewhat "fuzzy", like it's made from cotton, but I would think that would have a risk of sucking the filter into the engine.

Re: Group Build 2009 : WIP Brabham BT46
Hey Guys,
Thanks again for all the help you all have given me. I'm making slow progress, but progress nonetheless. I decided to completely remake all the heat exchangers. I tried to remove "tubes and fins" in order to insert p.e. parts, but it looked bad, so I binned them altogether and made new from stock styrene. I going through the picture you all have so graciously bestowed upon me, I found that the tubing to the front radiator is unacceptable in kit form, so I decided to remake this also. You can see my progress so far: got the tubes cut and assembled in correct orientation, need to get the cleaned up and ready to be put together (after the whole lot is assmbled). You can see attached.
Basically, my little "light upgrades" project is ballooning into something considerably larger, but a heck of a lot if fun, and I think the outcome oughtta be much better.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Group Build 2009 : WIP Brabham BT46
Hello All,
Just a quick update. I've gotten the gotten the engine and transmission painted:
Engine : Tamiya Gloss Aluminum + Flat Clear, washed with Tamiya Nato Black
Trans. : M.M. Gunmetal Metallizer + Flat Clear , to be highlighted with Tamiya pastels
I've decided that I will replace all the little molded-in bolt heads with actual bolts, where I can reach and where they'll fit, planning to use Scale Hardware stuff. So, I've been cutting away the original and drilling the holes and here's the count at present:
Engine : 102
Trans. : 52
I'm planning to do all the othere things, such as accessories and suspension, so I think I'm gonna need some more hardware..........
Have a look, feedback, comments and advice always welcome and appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris
