The carburetor is fantastic. Very nicely proportioned/ will look great cast in resin. But.., you must be ruining your eye-sight..!

Hi Harvey,
I'm amazed how much details you put onto the carburetor. It may not be an easy task to cast it.

Many, many thanks for your kind words chaps. Your continued support has motivated me throughout this [sometimes troubled] project and I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel
The carb is a definitive step in this build...it has haunted me for months The decision to cast in metal came about because I sincerely doubt I could re-produce an exact copy without completely losing my eyesight and sanity. At least if I don't get a perfect casting, I can melt and try again without losing too much time, so that's a bonus!
I get a delivery tomorrow containing some high-temp moulding silicone, so I'm really looking forward to getting stuck-in! Wish me luck guys!
Cheers, H

sounds good Harvey, looking forward to the next update about casting. Did a lot of metal castings in the past years, so if you are in trouble, maybe i can help a bit, but i`m sure you will fix that too on your own.
The best is to powder the casting molds with talcum, so the metal runs into the molding easy. Maybe you need a few attemps, best result is when the casting mold has temperature, hope this helps for the first start.

That carb looks fantastic! Really looking forward to your casting process, and I hope all those great details will be just as crisp as in the original. Good luck
