The decal paper I used came from here,

I think i should give it a try, specially as it comes in handy A4 format.

My homemade decals don't react well to decal softener (i tried Micro Set and Sol).
They tend to curl the wrong way.

But the most difficult thing for me is to get the amount of Decal film :
Too thin a coat and it's not sealed
Too thick and the decal doesn't stick well
Any tip you could give?

Icon,
This Porsche looks great, i think i've seen it before.
It's made from a RC body, isnt it?

Yes Daniel, Dale's 908/3 Martini version is magic. This one, I think, Dale did all the markings himself as dry transfers but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Hi Oliver,

I think that may be the paper.I always put a couple of generous coats of the Microscale Liquid Decal film onto the decals to seal them and have no problems with them sticking afterwards.Try the paper from Crafty Computer Papers and I think you will see a difference.

Best regards,

Steve

I was interested in this subject and would like to add my findings. First of all I toured the web for the items I wanted, I am building a 1/8 E-type Jaguar. I found dozens for things like manufacturers lates, oil tags, Lucas, Trico window wash etc. I then put them into Microsoft Word, resized them then printed copies to ensure the sizes are right, you size them to suit. Using a Lexmark printer, very cheap, I printed onto decal paper from USA suitable for non specialist printers. I then oversprayed with Acrylic laquer from an aerosol, and that was it. I have made 1/72 to 1/8 scale and not had a failure yet.

Great stuff! Trying to figure out how to (easily) extract/print all the good info in this thread. Shame all the photos from the early posts are no longer available.

We need to do an e-clinic on this subject!

Cheers,
