Re: WIP : Audi R10 TDi LMM
OK, I finished the Audi R10 TDi !!
All in all, I really enjoyed building this kit, and I am happy with the outcome. My impressions of my first LMM build is the resin castings are very nice, but you need A LOT of test fitting and modifiying to get things to fit.
The decals were first-rate, but there's no placement guide , and the instructions are really more suggestions, with no color call-outs. Thankfully, LMM included a nice page of color reference pictures.
All that being said, I like the outcome, and it makes a nice addition to the cabinet. I'll be happy to build another.
Cheers,
Chris
P.S. - Mr. Moderator, can you move this post to the "Completed" section?

Hi Chris, Super build, all the carbon work paid off and the small rivet/catch detail really shows well.
I hope my kit turns out as good.

Re: Audi R10 TDi LMM : Completed!!
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the nice comments. The body rivets/fasteners are Hobby Design Flat Rivets (0.5mm & 0.75mm) with a dark grey wash to give a little depth. I used these also on the Ferrari F2004, and I like them a lot, 40pcs. for about US$8, not bad I figure. The 4 recessed latches are part of the kit p.e., and also turn out nicely.
Duke, in the end, I used 4 different types of CF decal. Mainly SMS Twill Weave, SMS Plain Weave for the cockpit floor, SMS High-Def. for the floor plank, and SMS Carbon Kevlar for the seat back (you can't even see it in the end, but when building I thought I would be able )
Thanks for looking,
Cheers,
Chris

Chris...I agree with everyone else. The R10 looks great! Can you tell me more about the Hobby Design rivets...are they Style A, B, or C? Do you know how each of these differ in appearance?
Thanks!
Craig
