I'm assuming for the price point this is a bit expected and not a specific issue for the version they got. While not great, if this was Tamiya we'd be spending $400 minimum, so we can expect to have to fix some things.SBEST wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 3:51 pmProduction problem that did not get caught in quality inspection?scaleautofactory wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 3:34 pmYes, on the front of the left sidepod is a displacement of 0.2mm , on the right side is only flash.
The engine is covered by some parts like turbo, exhaust, pipes - so the main problems with the displacement of the details is not much visible.

Re: 1/12 Lotus 99t NUNU
Tamiya sleepless? Hell they are in a coma! When was the last time they did a 12th scale F-1 subject? If I recall their first attempts, Honda and Lotus 49 were pretty much full of inaccuracies also.
I do think that with todays tech, this kit could have been a bit better.
I hope that Beemax is reading and watching all of the reviews on the Lotus and hopefully they will do better with the Mclaren MP4/4.

Re: 1/12 Lotus 99t NUNU
I'll hold judgement until I get my kit, but based on the video reviews of the kit I've seen, it seems like the quality issues posted here seem to be more of an anomaly and may have been a bad production batch.
Also, let's give BeeMax some leeway. They may be Aoshima's contract manufacturer, but let's remember they haven't been in the business that long. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for their first 1/12 scale mass production kit.

Re: 1/12 Lotus 99t NUNU
Greetings all,
I have no concerns with the sink marks and moulding anomalies mentioned earlier. Any half decent modeller will rectify these issues with ease.
My main concern is the tyres. They seem to be quite thinly cast and don’t feel as dense in comparison to Tamiya’s tyres. Due to this factor, I wonder if Beemax’s tyres will be prone to perishing over time. Perhaps one of the 3D printed replacement sets currently available will need to be sourced.
Cheers, Paul

Re: 1/12 Lotus 99t NUNU
Mine arrived today.
Agree the manufacturing is not perfect, but i think it will build into a beautiful model. Design is really good, detail and overall shape look great. The detail set adds a lot. All at an entirely reasonable price.
So excited its finally here. Feels like christmas!!

I think the mp4/4 from Meng should cost that 70€ more than this, not like now.
