It's a very nice car!!
So much I scratch built one as early as june '88!! :)
It was such a breakthrough on the 1987 cars...
The build is absolutely pristine, Sean!! Shame S27 was a bit wrong on the front end of nose cone: should be sharper!
Nevertheless, I love the contrast between low sharp nose, big fronr wing endplates...
Sean I have a Piola drawing of the low rear wing: was tested at Silverstone...

thanks for all your comments guys, very kind as always. Interesting point James too - I will have a look at the nose in my reference pics to see what you mean.

... and Tony, good luck with your build, the kit is a joy.

That's a very nice build indeed.
The testcar was from the german GP, they also ran it with a lower (or no) airbox.
It might be a bit late , but here is a pic of the car I meant.

And here the one in seamus post

Great job Seamus!

This really makes me want to start my Williams FW13B!

One question, did you brushpaint the engine assemblies? It looks really good!

Cheers!

thanks Emil,

yes, the final stages of the engine and transmission were dry brush painted, however I sprayed it initially using a Dark Flat Alu as I remember. I think I also added a very thin black wash too to deepen the recesses, I use this technique constantly as it gives the illusion of a lot more detail to the basic engine unit.

thanks again for your comments
