Re: ST 27 Williams FW26
Interesting. Will be cool to watch this develop!
I have to say that the the late version of this car is one of my favourite shapes of the modern (aero overload) era. Because this version was so unique, the later one never got kitted, but I'm interested in trying to blend the nose from an Fw25 and sidepods from an Fw27 onto this tub. Someday when I've build everything else in the pile...
Anyway, I really look forward to seeing this painted up!
cheers,
michael

Re: ST 27 Williams FW26
Here are the suspension arms. I missed 4 of them last night on my first painting(white primer) session, so they will be painted tonight. I will try and get all of them CF'd tonight. I recieved an e-mail from Hiroboy yesterday stating that my paint had been shipped, so hopefuly I will see it soon.
Your right Seamus, I can hardly wait to get this one finished.
43rd Michael, I am with you on the later version of this car. I wish ST27 would have done it instead.

Re: ST 27 Williams FW26
Speaking of late and early. Here are a couple of pictures so you can see the difference.
The top picture is the early season version, the bottom is the late season.

The Tamiya FW24 wheels look more accurate.

Like others, I don't think the Walrus was ugly at all. Can't wait to see it finished!

Re: ST 27 Williams FW26
yeah but I see them more like the jaguar R5 one, not 2 spokes by 2 spokes but a regular interval

Re: ST 27 Williams FW26
I don't know.......
The launch pictures show something closer to what is in the kit, but the Tamiya wheels are by far the most accurate for actual race worn hardware, in my opinion. These below are the 1/10 scale Tamiya R/C FW24 rims. The 1/20th scale rims are the same, but this picture was better than what I could get with my camera.

Re: ST 27 Williams FW26
Not much of an update today, or pictures. I was able to get 1 side of all of the suspension pieces CF'd. I finished putting CF on the bottom of the undertray. I ran out of CF and am awaiting more to get here. I got 90% of the white metal pieces primed, and will probably shoot what gets painted black tonight.
At this point, it is a waiting game.
