Well here are more pictures of progress, I did put a clearcoat before the blue so the overspray should polish out. I have a couple of areas where the tape has lifted the paint.

Oh yeah! Now its looking like a Tyrell. The overspray will polish out without a problem at all. You might be surprised at how little amount of compound and polishing is required to tidy things up. Happens to me also.
Enjoy the rest of the build. Cheers. Tim

Re: Tyrrell 019 scale 1:20 conversion
Update:
After touch ups here and there, I sprayed in zero Clearcoat laquer. Then onto decals. Using a mixture of the Braun 020 kit decals and the Tabu design dress up decals (rothmans) TABU 20154 (thanks to best balsakits.. After research then I decided that the Hungarian Grand prix was the closest wing set up. The Red Wing plate decals and on the white 'windscreen' are from the tamiya decals. The Tabu are too small. Also the PIAA on the enginre cover is from the tamiya kit as the tabu is undersized. 2 big problems remained for me. First the 'Epson' either side of the driver is too small in the Tabu sheet. They are correct size on the Tamiya decals but in black. However, I work next to a vinyl signmaker. He kindly cut 'Epson' to the correct size on the thinnest vinyl. So this part is an actual vinyl...just like the real thing
Anyway, the last hurdle was the number 4, No blue ones in the decals. However I always keep spare decals from old kits. So I photocopied the number 4 and taped over a decal from a REvell concorde kit that was a close blue. So the number 4 on sidepods are hand cut. THe silver line to separate the blue and white was very tricky. I had to cut into small pieces to follow the shape. Dont look too close here. So Ill leave to dry overnight before clearcoating again. I can smell the finish line.

Nice job on the 019!
Adapt, improvise, achieve the goal
I loved the 019 since first sight, keep up the good work!

Wow so nice.
And brave decals problem fixing
But next time remember to whistle here, there are people with obscure but quite effective powers regarding decals
