Ted Toleman has passed away, Crash.net informs
https://www.crash.net/f1/news/1046672/1 ... debut-dies
One of those characters of the second (or third?) golden era of racing. He brought us boats racing, F2, F1, Senna, Rory Byrne, the Hart engines...
And also stories of challenge and improvement as the General Belgrano T181s finally became sleek TG185s...
Obviously Brit fellows will feel it deeply. But good old exhaust coughs like many of us also are sorry.
Needless to say the team he founded is, genetically, today´s Alpine.
Race in èace

Re: R.I.P. Ted Toleman
I will always remember the Toleman team’s dominant 1980 F2 campaign, the TG280 Hart, penned by a young Rory Byrne was a beautiful as it was successful. It was that ‘80 Euro F2 title that convinced them that they could take on the big boys in F1. We were all the better for it!
