Re: Hey I entered something at a contest!!
Congratulations for winning a medal!
And thank you for sharing the pictures.
My personal favourite of your cars is the Tyrrell, closely followed by the ATS D4.
I wonder if the jury had ever seen some of these cars before in their life. I mean McLaren's or Ferrari's are a more common sight. But an ATS... And then even three of them at once!

Congratulations James, very well done, I'd guess the rarity / unusual subjects that you created went quite some way to your winning the prize.
I love the ATS's myself, they look great, if I were handing out medals you'd get one from me for them

Re: Hey I entered something at a contest!!
great photos, thanks James! Good to see the Sapito builds on display. That Alonso indycar looks terrific.
Re: Hey I entered something at a contest!!
Thanks a lot Jeff, Dede, Michael, Stu, Steffen Vekkuli!
Yes the Indycar was great, I guess it deserved a prize. And sure the Sapitos croaked loud I hope for the Bull frogs next year
Yes Dede, thx! I had some german bias, it seems! The ATSs always look great in their yellow robe. I suppose they encouraged me to be back
Yes Steffen, quite unusual not sure about the knowledge background of the judge (1!), I´ll ask him if I have the chance. But yes here the most usual is known brands and Alonso´s cars...
I also like the Tyrrell specially. BTW it was the only one rescued from the dust area. The rest were correctly kept in cabinets but the TY010 I had to undust.
Vekkuli, thx! but it was just bronze.
If I have a while I´ll post some more pics.

Re: Hey I entered something at a contest!!
Nice work James and congratulations!
It would have been nice to give the models more space to better appreciate them but maybe that was just not possible.
The lighting seems good, but I find the solution with the scratched plexi panels leaves room for improvement. Was the audience that rowdy?
Whenever I read about contests, it's dicussions about weird scoring ( intentional or not ) and unhappiness about the participation and results,
so I tend to steer clear of them, but that's just my personal feeling.
I think build reports in forums are a much better medium to appreciate the thought and dedication a builder puts into a project.
For example I like that red/white Mercedes AMG a lot. I think I've seen that online previously because the whole livery is custom made. Worthy a price in my book

Re: Hey I entered something at a contest!!
Thanks for the great contest report and congrats on the well deserved medal! Really enjoy your lineup of “less usual” cars, in a modelling world where you can buy an MP4/4 in every thinkable scale the ATS’s and of course the Minardi are a welcome change. Btw can’t believe btw you are still not sold out on the M188(B) transkit, get it while you can folks (and to illustrate my earlier point - there is no need to feel sorry for sacrificing an MP4/4 as donor kit… )! Well done again James!
