Finishers 1/20 Jordan Yamaha 192
Here is my completed Jordan Yamaha 192 as raced in 1992. The kit is by Finishers, decals are from Studio 27 intended for the Jordan Yamaha 191Y presentation car.
The kit was not great, had to completely rework the front wing as it would been scraping the floor if I left it as it was. That meant removing a section from the 'droop' of the wing and then rebuilding. I also had to remake the upper front flaps completely.
The rear bodywork as supplied with the kit was to represent the late season 'blown' version of the airbox but I didn't like that and wanted to make the sleeker, more Jordan 191 like, airbox so I ground the resin away and remodeled in filler.
I also hollowed out the air intake for the engine, huge improvement, and reshaped and opened up the radiator air exits as they were blocked on the kit.
Took a long while to get all that to the point that I was happy with it.
The kit is painted in Zero paints. Painted pure white first, then masked off the white key line around the red. Sprayed the red. I then sprayed Honda racing white on the sidepods, wanted an off white for the Barclay area. I then masked that and sprayed the light blue. Masked the light blue and sprayed the dark blue. Finally I masked an ultra fine key line between the off white and the dark blue and sprayed it maroon so that the only decals visible are sponsors names and race numbers. Everything else is paint.
The bodywork was cleared using Zero diamond 2 pack clear prior to decals and then after. It was polished using four grades of micromesh and finished with three grades of Tamiya polishing compound and finally waxed with Maguire wax.
Been a 3 or 4 year project and a lot of work but I'm happy with the results.
On to the next builds now, Lotus 99T and Footwork Porsche FA12.

That is absolutely fantastic. A well spent three years if it produces a model like this!

Lots of work in that one, and it shows in the beautiful results you have achieved. Great stuff! Look forward to the Footwork.
