From Avon's tire fitment guide on vintage F1 cars - I found this quite a while ago and can't remember the exact source, but this is the data:

1984-1992 front tires size = 25.0in diameter X 11.0in cross section width X 9.0in tread width.

I converted these measurements to mm in 1/12 and 1/20 scale at some point, probably because I was trying to fabricate some tires, if you need that let me know.

Best,
AJ

Thanks for the info AJ, i had a look at the Joe Honda book about the 1986 Turbo cars and i found a picture from the Williams front tire with original Goodones on, showing a size of 25,0 x 15 - 13 on the tire, can you copy this?
Avon is allways a gamble as they somtimes do not make the original time period size from Goodones.
I`m definately interested in the measurements you made, can you send me a pm maybe? ;)

According to Wikipedia, Gdyr tires size are 25.0x10.0-13 for front and 26.0x15.0-13 for rear from 1981 until 1992. These are marked with white logo. I check the Modelers' Tyrrell 019 and Hasegawa's Larousse LC90, both in 1/24. The Tyrrell uses Prlli tires and Larousse uses Gdyr. Their sizes are very similar. The Hasegaw Gdyr scales up to diameter 24.6", overall width 12.7" and tread width 10.8" for front tire. The rear tire has diameter of 25.7", overall width 17.9" and tread width 15.6".

I also has a Tamiya 1/12 MP4/6. The markings on the tires match the Wiki information. However, the rear tire only scales up 25 diameter only. The overall width is 18.2" and tread is 15.0". The front tire scale up to 24.6" diameter, overall width 12.5" and tread width 10.2".

The FIA 1988 technical regulation only specifies maximum wheel diameter at 26" and maximum overall width at 18" for both front and rear tires.

Thank you so much for all these informations, i totaly forgot about Wiki! :)
So i was wrong with my "identification" on the pic, makes sence as the width of the front must be far less then the rear ones!
Allways great to have you guys here around! :)
