Great result!!
All the efforts and pain in between payed out, congratulations that you did not quit! All the detail and correction work is realy nice, a unique piece finaly.
Is that foil as thin as bare metal foil? You mentioned that every flaw looks through. It looks so much better then bare metal foil, realy impressing!

You are officially a model making Genius! To have ended up with the finished 312 B3 as you have achieved it is simply amazing considering what you had to start with. Congratulations.
Dede.

Hi gp-models,
The Hasegawa foil is totally different to Bare Metal. Bare Metal is a thin(0,02mm) alu foil with an adhesive layer. The surface of the chrome like foil is a little bit raw and matt. If it's placed, you can hardly remove it for some correction and place it again.
The Hasegawa seems to be a silver evaporated plastic foil (0,04mm).Surface is 100% smooth and shiny. But you need a very good fixation of the part you will cover with that foil. Although it is a little bit tighter the Bare, it is a more flexible, that makes it easier to place on gently covex-concave surfaces. And you can pull it away for some correction without damaging, if you get an air bubble or wrinkles.
Bare metal is fine for small parts, Hasegawa I would prefer for larger flat parts like these wings.

Thank you for explaining the oppertunities of this material, i`m realy impressed by how it looks.
I agree that Bare metal foil is not a good option for those large parts, too fragile to handle and a bit dull finaly. I like this stuff and it`s perfect look, still have to get some of it to give it a shot.
Once again, thank you for posting this great WIP and that you hold the line to get it done, still an amazing result!
