In spite of the relatively high price of the the kit and aftermarket parts, I’d like to have and super-detail 1/8 643. It’s such a beautiful machine!

They can be pricy, however, you can usually find a built one for 400-600US. For what it is, compared to other smaller kits, they are kind of a bargain. They come apart easy and you can do a lot to it, even without all the parts. I bought this one $600 and my last one for $400.00. You can get away with the TVF1 brake kit as you can see so much of it. Honestly, I rarely take the cowl off the other one.

Glad to see you back on this project. I’ve one of this giant & am wondering where can I get the decals as mine have faded over time. Like you have mentioned above, this kit is relatively easy to dismantle to restore & detail as it’s mainly held up with screws.
Cheers

Thank you, Lee. I do a lot of work, but don’t post much.

The tub is coming along well. Trying to incorporate as many of TVF1 and RB Motion parts as I can. I got held up this past week with the suspension. I have used Gun Blue many times, but this time has been a disaster. I think I have solved my problem and I’m back on track, no pun.

I had been getting my decals from Uli at Autograph Model, which were very well made. However, there is an F1M member who I am now getting them from. I should have a set soon. I bought a set for another 643 that I converted to a Monza 1982 126C2 Andretti car from Indycals. I was Covid bored and thought I’d experiment. Indycals decals are also excellent, however he does not offer them. I will ask the fellow member if it’s ok to post his name, or I’ll send to you directly.

Have you started your 643? I am currently building 3. Perhaps we can trade some tricks on this one.

Yes, still looking great with the TVD parts, a shame that the molds are destroyed and a re release not possible, the car is a beauty!
Take a stand!

It is a shame, but they are not that hard to find. I bought my first 20 years ago. Ended up with 4. I’ve been buying built ones and rebuilding them. Less that half the price.
