Dave, beautiful work! Cannot wait to hear the owner's reaction.
I will not be in Hawaii before 2021 now, the quarantine does not lift until 8/1 and that is just too late to start a trip. But Honolulu will be one of our stops, for sure!

Nice one Dave!, very good looking paint job.
Never heard of ABC before, very interesting kit.

Nice. I built the much smaller brother, the 1/43 version. Nice build only the headlights were too difficult for me. Same problem as you have, flat sheet of clear plastic. I think you'll need a mould of some sorts and use heat.

Hi Dave, daves wrote:I have been laying off this one for a long time. With the COVID shut down, I have no excuse not to work on it. I made some great progress this week. i painted the body with Tamiya Pearl White, which is close to the real car. Used Tamiya Blue for the bottom. The masking was a challenge for my limited masking skills. Building the Williams FW14 helped in this area. The way the progress is going, I should have it done in a week or two. Looking forward to delivering it so I can take my nephew up to see my friends car collection.

wow, was others have said, that last photo is awesome. Are you on Oahu or one of the other islands? I've lived in Honolulu for a month in August 2007 and it was just awesome. Sadly I've only managed to go around the entire island once (on the day hurricane Flossy hit - without me realizing it until later that night...) and never made it to the Big Island or the others . I envy you for living in paradise...
.. and also for having a friend with a real MC-12. "That aside" - great work on the Maser! Seeing that you have done a few ABC Brianza kits in the past, how would you rate this one? I don't think I've ever seen one of these being done before.
Cheers,
Roman

Fortunately the street version does not have headlamp covers.Moskie wrote:Nice. I built the much smaller brother, the 1/43 version. Nice build only the headlights were too difficult for me. I have lived in Honolulu for over 30 years. Moved here from San Francisco. My wife was born here. It is paradise. Paul O'Farrell visited me here a few years ago.
I have only built one ABC kit previously, a 1/12th Porsche 917. This kit is much more of a challenge.

Good work on the paint job Dave, looking nice! I like these "flat" material windows, they are a bit fiddly to attach, but they look way better then most vacuum formed parts finaly.
Keep it coming!

Take a stand!

That worked very well.
The owner could proud of it.
The real car and of the model too!
