1/12 Tamiya Williams FW14B
Finally finished the Lotus 72D and repaired a bunch of others, built a Harley kit, now it's back to the fun stuff. I'm supposed to take all these little bits and pieces and convert them into a 1/12 scale Williams FW14B. I'm using a Formula Perfect Brake kit, (most of one anyways, never did get the other 2 rotors), Formula Perfect engine upgrade and photo-etch. Top Studio Front Dampers and Bulkhead along with the Top Studio Cockpit upgrade. Those last two have me in awe and so excited. I nearly wet myself. Hopefully I can do them justice. Don't look for fast updates, I'm not one of those guys. I have two cabins to look after, a girlfriend/ex-wife, two grandkids and an estate to settle. So this is instead of putting my fist through the drywall. The bottom photo is all the stuff I got from Raterink at Thunder Valley F1. I've had these for a number of years and am not expecting any response from him. If anybody has a pair of the rotors they don't want, I have a mailing address and a paypal account.

What exactly are you looking for with regards to the brake discs?

Always interesting to watch a Williams come together, however long it takes.
Look forward to seeing this progress.

This one is going to be fun to follow along! I’ve seen those top studio bulkhead sets and wondered how difficult it would be to put together. Good luck!

This is in my stash, along with the 2 Top Studio goodies, but I am a fair number of years away from building it. I think Top Studio will release an engine/chassis upgrade set at some point. I am sure it is going to be costly, but worth it to produce a great replica. Good luck with the build.

Hmmm I wish I had those TS upgrades when I build my Williams when it can out back in I believe was 1994. I had to scratch build and fab bits from a lathe. I don’t think I even had reference pics from the Internet it was all from photos of books. Anyway I was happy with the results. I decided to do mine all in CF for the bodywork instead of painting its colors. Different look definitely from all the others out there. Here are some pics of what I’m talking about.

When I got the brake kit from Raterink, there was only two rotors in the kit, not 4. You can see in the top of the brake kit there is no black discs for the front brakes. If anybody has 2 discs they don't need, maybe we can work something out. Judging by the pictures of yours, how did you do the discs?Jose01jr wrote:What exactly are you looking for with regards to the brake discs?

I machined them on a lathe. I just got an email from Paul and he is in business maybe should try emailing him. Another option is getting the TS brake upgrade which are very good and not expensive. Another option is a may have a pair But I need to check my stock pile.

Steps 1-3 with the downdraft spray booth I built. I use dryer hose to vent out the window. 1inch Styrofoam SM in the window so I can use it during the winter. I may need to change the bottom filter. It's been several years.
