thank you very much for your comments guys, today I can show you some small progress. But in my opinion these small improvements make a big difference. I scratched some tiny mounts for the waste gates (every mount contains 5 parts) also I added bolt heads from aluminium and I'm totally flashed about the result. It was a mess to install these bolt heads because I have to change the complete gas line. Now the parts are fixed with small neodym magnets, this was necessary to glue the two parts of the air intake, anyway it was´nt fun :D but it was worth the hussle. The main focus was to build absolutely clean, because in 1:8 you can see every mistake, absolutely everything.

Here are the pics:

I didn't even know that Kyosho did model kits, knew they did RC and die-cast...

this is so cool!! Can you put something in one of the pics for reference, like a pencil or something, just to see the size in relation to something.
I've never seen a 1/8 kit.

Great progress so far and unbelievable CF work, and agree - those exhaust pipes look beautiful.

I'm building it as well along with the 1/8th P34. Look forward to your insight as I plan to do quite a bit of 3D printing etc.

Hello Modelers,

today i want to show you some progress on my project. I followed the discussion about the structure and color about the McLaren with interest. Today i want to show you my solution. The aim was to create a real carbon structure with that shiny reflections from the light. So with light the tub is brown, without its near black. That was my impression as I saw the real McLaren from that era.

here are the pics:

at first i decalled the right carbon fiber

then I brushed the first thin coat of brown metallic and a lot of filters

the result looks like that:

here you can see the effects of different angles from the light falls on the monocoque

I hope you like my interpretation of this issue

I like the effect - and overall this build is awesome. I love the machined look of the engine casting edges and the details you're adding.
