It would be nice to have both options as soon as they launch. Waiting a year or two to complete is a very long time. As a business man, I’d want to bring in as much cash as fast as possible...cash flow. I don’t build anything else, so my options are limited. And I live in the US...two strikes. 4 of you count Trump!

Your explanation about manufacturing and distribution makes sense. Didn’t really understand the business model until Model-Space started playing games. Thank you for explaining it better.
Selling full kits requires a much larger investment on the part of the distributor - a ton more money tied up and more shelf space occupied. I'd be willing to bet some of them aren't equipped to warehouse a bunch of 1:8 scale kits but I think the key factor is probably the cost of the inventory. These companies are obviously in love with the subscription model. Don't forget that some of the same companies are the ones that have sold several series of 1:43 models with magazines on subscription plans.

Irritated me too - probably because I had just seen the same thing happen 3x in a Facebook thread in a group where it just wasn't appropriate - like this one! I chose to ignore it - this time. Don't know why people can't stick to the topic at hand.

Noddy I've also built the Laferrari by having an friend import it from Japan; quality wise it is on-par with the DeAg Countach, the motorized doors only worked for a month or two, now they have to be lifted to engage the motors, and the batteries wear down quickly.

Its a throwaway comment. We've had about as many posts here with comments about Trump as we had about Obama when he was president. If it becomes a trend we can clamp down on it.

For a while it was only available in Italy and, strangely, in Russia. There was someone in Russia selling complete kits on Ebay but at a pretty high price.
Not surprised at all about the doors / motors. It seemed a rather optimistic bit of engineering.
