Tamiya Lotus 99T
Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
wonderful work, I can imagine how complicate it was to solder such tiny parts.
Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Thank you for kind commend Bruce! Yeah once painted and glued to chassis it might sink down in the overall look, have to think about it and do some testpainting to see how it appears.Belugawrx wrote:I think it looks great, once painted and in place should be convincing !
Wonderful detailing ..I am following
Cheers
Maybe i do it again to see if i can get it better, did so much changes on this one to figure out sizes and how it could be done, let`s have a look after painting.
Thank you too for kind commend!senninha wrote:wonderful work, I can imagine how complicate it was to solder such tiny parts.
It`s been a real pain to solder it, have to get another tip for my soldering iron as it is too larg for such tiny things, i think i have to sharpen it on my own cause all tips for sale are too thick. Will focus on the engine the next days and think about redoing or using it.

Unbelievable!!
Looking amazing, can`t imagine how you made it, the parts must be not much more then a few millimeters, right?
I would use it, great detailwork!

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Thanks for kind commend, yes some parts are not even one millimeter like the hex nuts, overall the complete part is about 10mm wide and about 5mm high. I used double sided tape to fix them for soldering, some parts are shortened after soldering cause it was not possible to work on them before.
I like such fiddly things, normaly i`m building 1:43, 1:20 is hugh for me but the good thing is you can detail it much further then a 1:43 kit.
Happy modeling!

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T
Today i finished a couple of things, first i scratch build a steering box, it was the last thing that was missing to the front end and attached an antenna.
Some more engine work is done, attached the rear light with wiring, scratch build a support for the bottel on top of the gear box (snorkel for left side is missing), added heat protected wiring and plumbing and as it was an active suspension, the rear shocks got control units with wiring and plumbing. Upper airbox is only dry fitted, needs more conections and the complete wiring. Things are getting more and more fiddly, especially the whole wiring, a lot is missing and has to wait till chassis, engine and undertray are glued together.
Thx for watching!
