Update, all of the main chassis parts are stuck together, i've primed it to spot bad joins, but it's come tofgether very smoothly, next step will be to sculpt panel lines.

Intersting car and process! Following with interest!Tyrone wrote:I used these models for the Mclaren, but you'll need Assetto Corsa Content mnager to do anything with them, as they're designed for use with the game.

They are also simple, therefore easier to print with a 3D printer.
You can get more accurate 3d files from here, https://www.racedepartment.com/download ... hop.27469/
but the models need more work to make printable.
What did you use to prepare the 3D files to print?
If you used the Assetto Corsa files, what program did you use to convert them to stl?
Currently building:
Alfa Romeo 159 (since 2021)
Recently finished:
Renault R30 (since 2010)

I used Assetto Corsa Content manager to 'unpack' the game files into the raw 3D models, from their I take the 3d models into Autodesk Netfabb, where you can split into seperate meshes automatically, here's how the 2019 Ferrari has split into components, i've then seperated them further for 3d printing.BMW wrote:Intersting car and process! From there, export the seperatye parts as STL files, and take them into a program called Meshmixer, here you can easily thicken parts.
This guy made a good explanation of how this works.

Then export from Meshmixer into ChiTuBox, to make the supports, and final 3d printer file, which I saved to the USB driver, and printed from the printer

Re: 1/20 2019 Mclaren MCL34 Scratch Build - Lando Norris
Update time!
Lots of progress has been made.
This is the car all loosly fitted together,
I noticed that I had the blue triangle at the bottom wrong.
So I made custom decals by painting zeropaint onto decal paper, to my suprise it worked!
Hopefully it will be less noticable when clear coated.
