More VEAL..Thanks Arie
I really do like these amt 1:25th Indy kits
I removed the front suspension before paint to get a better finish in this area
Cut the engine hanger from the firewall and shimmed the seat bottom so it would raise up to meet the cockpit rail
GF Models 1:25th driver figure, with slight modification, will slide into the seatless cockpit, just fine
Added some wiring to the engine
Used Indycals black back decals, and guess what...? impossible to have silvering...YAAA
Now there are two
Fun build....looking for more
Cheers

Agree with you about the AMT Indy cars. Inexpensive modeling fun. You've figured out the shortcomings and found the fixes to really polish that jewel. I had that kit and those decals in my hand this morning as I'm slowly setting up a workspace in a new house.
Thanks for a nice boost for my model mojo.

You can build Arie’s 1993 Indy 500 pole winner using the 1/20 scale Tamiya kit and Indycals decals. There were 1/25 scale resin kits of his Indy 500 winners that you can occasionally find on eBay. Indycals has those decals too.alien9998 wrote:Are there more Luyendijk kits?

Just pointing out that to do Arie's (or any driver) car for the 1993 Indy 500, you need to get the Duracell version of the Tamiya kit, as that has the correct speedway wings. The Newman-Haas version of the kit has the bigger road course wings that were not used at Indy.PJE wrote:You can build Arie’s 1993 Indy 500 pole winner using the 1/20 scale Tamiya kit and Indycals decals.alien9998 wrote:Are there more Luyendijk kits?
