Re: Ferrari F2001 black nose
How are you doing this paint job? I would highly appreciate if you can explain in detail. On my F1-2000 I did it with Tamiya primer, followed by Tamiya TS-49. My result is quite far from yours. I'd really like to learn from pros like you because there is also a F1-2001 waiting in my "garage".
thx, Wolfgang

Re: Ferrari F2001 black nose
I use 2K clear over the body paint wich I than sanding and polishsing. This result is not straight from airbrush. No secrets but it tooks a lot of time. I don't think that my ways of sanfing and polishing strongly differ from these wich you can find on youtube and so on...

Re: Ferrari F2001 black nose
Thx for your reply and some more questions:
- Do you use another clear layer on top of the decals on the body?
- which sandpaper and dry or wet?
- some polishing or clear on top of the carbon decals?
regards,
Wolfgang

Re: Ferrari F2001 black nose
I'll help since its all pretty generic, just obviously changed by the skill level. There is a clear coat over the decals, and sanding is done with a wet coat. Afterwards they will polish as well.

Not always. On this model - yeswolfgang76 wrote:- Do you use another clear layer on top of the decals on the body?

Sia or 3M and Tamiya sanding sponge.
On this model - only on suspension arms.wolfgang76 wrote:- some polishing or clear on top of the carbon decals?
