Thank you my friend, I do plan to build this version just as it appears on the box cover. I have a few detail items plus 2 additional PE detail sets to use as well. I just returned from Washington DC and hope to start gluing plastic this week. As is the norm for me, this means I will start with the power plant.

Enjoy. I have the Studio 27 Seat & MFH Wing Set. My version is going to be Scheckter's Watkin Glens 2nd place finisher.

Did some mock up today. I always like to ID problem areas before I get too far into a build and find parts do not match up.

Great car i always loved! I did it Long time ago when i was young and i don't know where it can be. Later, i did the 1/20 scale and i also have the Firts National one pending. But last year, i bought again the 1/12. So i will follow your process in deep!

Don't worry about fitting issues. It's a Tamiya kit, build a hundred times before.
Should fell together from alone.

10-4, I agree, Tamiya does mfg their kits to fit, but we are talking a kit from the 70's and I have built some of their kits that did have fit issues. Could be from setting in a Hobby Shop forever or on a top shelf too long. I once built their 312B that the body shell could not be made to mate correctly! The engine and everything was ready but alas, the shell was not! So now I do a quick mock-up to just make sure. But hey, I appreciate your interest and willingness to assist, so keep replying my friend. Could not but help to notice Green Bay.......Go Panthers.... :D

Coincidence: All this talk of Jody Scheckter prompted me to post some photos. This is a 10 year old build (long before I joined this forum) of 1/12 Tamiya P34. Back then I was obsessed with stuffing driver figures in as many builds as I could. Figure came from Tyrrell 003 (Ithink) and helmet from the old 1/12 Tamiya Driver Figure kit. The helmet is empty, so I tinted the face shield to hide this. I plan to freshen up this build with new decals, add the black surrounds for the cockpit windows, improve the helmet, and try to move the head a little further back. I just thought these pics were apropos for this thread. More pics upon request.

Thanks for looking as this mediocre effort.
