Re: PLASTIC Upcoming F1 Releases 2019
There is definitely more licensing with a racing car than a street car so that could explain the higher price. The SF70H is suggested retail at nearly $80, and that doesn't have an engine...but I'm hoping with the space in the prototype engine bay we get an engine. I never quite believe when people claim the teams don't allow an engine because they don't want their secrets stolen, as any team learning from a 1/24th scale model is clearly already lightyears behind! Reference pics are so hard to find anyway that as long as it has the right number of cylinders that will be enough for most people.lezdep wrote:Going to put another speculation down. Compared announced prices for Ford GT and TS050 models. TS050 is prices higher.
This gives an indication that detail level would be on par or better then in Ford GT kit. And that would mean some engine detail
to me. Unless licensing fees are so high that price had to be jacked up so much. We will find out soon, in a week or so.

While its not super detailed I do see an engine and what looks to be the option for removable bodywork on the Toyota. It looks great!

Agreed! The sprue pic is pretty low res but I do see a gearbox, wishbones, and what looks to be the top half of the engine plus other components, but it's super low res. Will need to wait for more detailed pics.stubeck wrote:While its not super detailed I do see an engine and what looks to be the option for removable bodywork on the Toyota. It looks great!

So a curbside. There are only some suspensions and part of the gearbox, just so that perhaps you can see some part of it from outside. That's why Tamiya gives the suspensions and gearbox. Maybe we can DIY an enginge?

Re: PLASTIC Upcoming F1 Releases 2019
There's an engine, it of course will require more detail but it does exist in the kit. For those wondering, the engine is on the top right sprue above where the floor is. The top part of the engine is on the bottom right sprue.
