Re: 1/12 MFH March - what could it be
My very first thought on seeing that was also "Porsche vibe", so I'm going with 908/3. The 962-C I'm afraid had
heads without fins, so that should be a no-no. A 959/961 would be interesting, but I somehow doubt that, not
that I have looked into their engine makeup yet.
Anyone remember the exact wording in their news regarding the 2018 lineup? It has been taken down since,
so no point in checking - I just did. I just remember calling a few models, one of which (Sharknose) has been
revealed last month.
I would kinda like the oddball Porsche 804, but the engine is out, so meh. And in any case, I thought it was in
some way related to Le Mans. If it was, the 908/3 would be out, but then there's shining victories at the Targa
or the 1000 km of the Nurburgring, so I'm calling 908/3.

Agreed, reminds me more of a wastegate than a engine cylinder.daveyman wrote:I'm gonna stick my neck out and say it looks like a close up of an assembly on a mid eighties turbo arrangement. No Idea what car but it just doesn't look like an engine to me. More of an ancillary. We will see...

Re: 1/12 MFH March - what could it be
The more i look at the MFH picture the more i am NOT sure what this is.
My first guess about the Porsche 908/3 was due to similarities to this image. from the underside of the 908
But again the pipe on the left side of the MFH picture does not match. (and i doubt MFH is doing a water cooled version of that car.
So i am very exited about the next hint from MFH

The fins of an adjacent cylinder are visible on the right so it’s not a waste gate.

You are right about the 962C engine. Nice catch. The 908/3 wore several body styles. The long distance endurance one is a no go for me but several of the sprint body styles are more interesting.sky1911 wrote:My very first thought on seeing that was also "Porsche vibe", so I'm going with 908/3. Re: 1/12 MFH March - what could it be
I must say MFH have found out about all the super sharks on this forum. This one here is very hard to guess.
I would love a Porsche racing car. "Worst case" (for my credit card) would be a 908/3 or a 936. But it does not match what MFH indicated for 2018 some months ago.
