1/20 Simtek S951 Roll Out Models J. Verstappen Monaco 1995
1/20 Simtek S951 Roll Out Models J. Verstappen Monaco 1995
After having shown a 1/20 Minardi PS05 by Red Five in the completed models section of the forum, here is my first wip here of my 2nd multimedia kit : the Simtek S951, a formula 1 of the 1995 season, driven by Schiattarella & Verstappen. The season of the team stopped at Monaco GP, out of budget, it is this version that Roll Out Models proposes with this full kit.
Here is the car at Monaco 1995 GP (Verstappen)
The box and its content :
The white metal parts :
The other parts :
Détail of the body, rather well cast, very few (little) bubbles :
The instructions, unfortunately all in japanese :
And the decals :

Re: 1/20 Simtek S951 Roll Out Models
Will being watching this. I have the kit also and I don't like how they molded that upper half of the floor on the body, and the lower half on the tub at the front of the side pod. I'm going to glue those two together, then cut it off to make one part out of it.
Will be interested to see how you tackle it.

I like your choices: Simtek, Minardi. I have warm feelings to this small teams. Hope it will be cool model on finish
Re: 1/20 Simtek S951 Roll Out Models
Thank you all
I've began to work on the kit, drilled holes on the body for mirrors and front suspension, sanded the tires, assembled front and rear wings and also the rear suspension on the gear box : not easy to see where the parts must go with the instructions, but the job is finally done (fortunately, Steffen sent me "walkaround photos" by pm, thanks again ).
Also I've applied a coat of primer on the wheels, wings and gearbox/rear suspension.
Just to have an idea ...
Yes, the way those 2 parts fit together is unusual but I think I'm going to do it simple, just screw the floor on the body and fill the gap with putty if necessary.Dino wrote:Will being watching this.
