Hi Daveyman.
Unfortunately, this project is stalled. My precious Cooper had a nasty smash. While removing it from it's safe place in the wardrobe, I dropped it on the floor!!!!! Luckily, the weight distribution was spot-on and she landed on her belly, but the shock was enough to break the engine free from it's mounts. In order to fix this I will have to undo years of work and take the rear-end apart!! I put it back in it's box (in a safer place) then sat and cried! I will get back to it at some point in the future....of that, you can be sure! I just can't face it at this moment in time!
Cheers, H

Hi Harvey,
Sorry about your accident with the Cooper. I hope you can come back to it soon. I have learnt a lot about scratch building with your w.i.p. and even try some because of you.
Thanks for share your knowledge in scratch building with us.
Happy Holidays and cheers,
Starr

Oh man, that is such a shame. After you've put in so much work. One day you will be ready to tackle it again I'm sure.
You building anything else till you can go back?
Merry Christmas to you Harvey.

How do H,
Oh mate, that's a major setback. I'm so gutted to read about how it fell that I can hear the sickening thud now.
Still, at least you've found that the Cooper can be recovered and it is not destroyed beyond repair. All power to you mate, get back to it when you are ready. Take a rest and get back on the bike tomorrow while you map out your plan.
Cheers, Paul

Thanks for your kind words, lads!
I really was utterly devastated when it happened because I had finally completed the webers and intake manifolds and was about to mount them to the head in preparation for the throttle linkage, then there was only rear suspension and wheels left to do!!! Oh well...sh%@ happens!! She will live again!
A Merry Christmas to you all
Cheers, H

Yes Davey, I am! I'm currently working on something a bit larger...a 1/12 Fiat 806gp. Not the Protar/Italeri kit, because that is wrong in just about every detail, but a full-scratchbuild. Will start a thread over the next week!daveyman wrote:You building anything else till you can go back?
