1979 Ligier JS11 Question
Found a couple of photos on Facebook showing the JS11 running with no front wing at Watkins Glen in 1979. Car had slicks on in the photos so I imagine it was taken during practice or qualifying. The race itself at least started in the wet. Anyone know if Ligier ran their cars during the race with no front wings?

Hi Paul!
No, no wing at least on Laffite (which I imagine your interest point) 's car.
Checked my two book, plus this:
pic from motorsportmagazine
So no wings my friend

Interesting Picture thanks for sharing!
The Ligier in 1/12 is a welcome addition for any model collection!
Am pleased I finished my kit!

With Icon wets you won't slip at the start.
Don't forget to lower the nose center
BTW, pics seem to show 15" tyres, though it must be acceleration...

Re: 1979 Ligier JS11 Question
Here is a photo I took as Ickx and friends entered turn 1 in the race. It was a terrible day for taking photos. I am one of those yellow slickers in the grandstands in the photo JamesB posted. You can see clearly Ickx didn't have front wings. Maybe someone can id the size of the wheels from this.

Mark, put the Fosters down...I think you mean Patrick Depailer...(De-Pie-Yay)...hehe
Isn't that you with the cowboy hat, clear poncho, and Fosters....(if you were watching the race, you
would have seen it was Patrick (Pat-Treek)...
Nice pic!, Kirk
