My business has a seat of SolidWorks so I'm using that to make these models.

Put a few hours in on the intake tonight, poured over many many pictures and spoke with my friend, our friend, Mac!

Mac mentioned that both sides were made with the same casting which took some getting my head around, as they are different at the front and back the only thing that makes sense is a rotational symmetry which meant my initial model was way off!!

So, what to do? The only thing to do was tweak everything over and over until the main body and all mounting points were symmetric rotationally!! The hardest part to figure out were the blocks that mount the throttle linkage, as they need to be inline they have to be staggered so the offset of the cylinder banks lines them back up. The attached picture has the plates offset to line up the throttle linkage mounting blocks.

With that said I'm locking these in design wise now, just a few more mounting bosses to add on the inner sides and the casting number, Then it's off to shapeways for some samples, I hope you like them, I feel like I'm designing the actual engine!!

Very Cool! I love what you've done in CAD. Interested to see how the parts turn out!
