Beemax MP4/2 w detail set
So I started this kit today. I bought two of them with the detail sets. Figure I better use it as best to my ability. I'm no master builder so I'll try and show you the best I can for what I feel I can do.
Lot has been said about the kit and it looks awesome. Fit is supposed to be good and on par with anything. I've just opened the bags so haven't dry fit any of the major parts yet. The instructions for the detail set are included in the normal instructions. This makes things confusing and distracting for me. So I went through and highlighted where they're called out. Sounds great until I immediately realized this is only about 40% of the detail sets pe. Explain more in a sec.
So I started with the engine and step 1. There's my first pe part the two hooks on the back of the tranny. No problem there. The. I realize that there's pe for the head cover engine mounts but no call out for it in the instructions. Great! So I added those as well. I realize that I'm supposed to add bolt heads from the pe to the engine mounts but I don't know which to use.
#34 has a lot more than #32 but idk?
Anyway so here's where we are.
And glued the engine block together.
So that's where I am. Will have to paint the engine and trans before I can really continue.
I do like how the pe is sandwiched between plastic film sheets so there's no connection points to cut off. Very nice.

Re: Beemax MP4/2 w detail set
Plugging away at the kit. Have painted lost of the engine components and am into the detailing aspect. I did get to use the first few decals from both the regular kit sheet and the cf decals provided in the detail set. I saw in the other post of one built that they had trouble with the decals but I'm happy to say I had no issues. They came off nicely and went on just as good. Same goes for the cf decal on the wing upright.
I'm still not a huge fan of the lack of instructions for the detail set. It has all those connectors and such but doesn't say which should go where. Obviously pics are best but it's difficult. I have to decide if I want to try and get into all that or leave it. I've never really super detailed anything.
Pics to follow I'll get some more work in today and snap them now. Supervising the kids at the pool currently.
