Adventures in soldering: The GT40 project Weber carb 2/20/17

Post by randy_ditton »

Hi Folks,

New guy here, must say the work I have seen so far on this site is superb :) :)

Attempting to build chassis P1076 , the third place car in the '69 Le Mans.

This build will be 1/24th scale starting with the Fujimi kit. Will use just the body with some work on the fenders.

Le Mans Minatures wheels and tires will be used as they have the correct width for the '69 race setup.

Hi Randy

Welcome to the Forum!!! :D :D
And a fantastic start you Show us here. Will watch your build with a lot of interest.

One question on your "half rounds" on the Chassis. Are These soldered on as seperate solid parts or did you Punch them with a tool from the backside?

Nevertheless, the Chassis Looks already fantastic.!!!

Best regards,
Michael

Awesome start Randy and welcome to F1M!!!

Your soldering work looks immaculate.....so clean 8) May I ask what thickness brass you are using?

Cheers, H
