Ok, take... whatever this one is!

First of all, I installed my in-line moisture trap. I hadn't realized that this thing has to be screwed onto the line's braiding. It took a bit of convincing, but here it is:

Obligatory...

Ok. With the airbrush thus upgraded, I took Accuracing's advice (many thanks) and tried again, this time thinning my paint even more. It all looks much better!

Thank God!!!!!!

And now for a very subtle wash.

I used a very thinned mixture of Tamiya Smoke and Flat Base, just to make the Flat Aluminum look less flat.

At least the engine block looks more metallic, in a DFV casting sort of way.

Always great the way a wash brings everything to life.
The engine block as the right feel now, those casting should not be shiny at all.
Super!

Looking forward to the next update.

Cheers

Great recovery on the aluminium finish, that block looks great.

Personally I've moved away from the Tamiya "metalic" paints in favour of the Games Workshop
line of metalics. The pigment is much finer and they thin just perfctly with water. Alcohol makes they dry too fast.
