bestbalsakits releases & ongoing projects
Guys,
in stead of making new thread for each new project i start working on, i will add all novelties to this thread in future.
I'll kick off with some pics of finalised 1/8 James Hunt helmet, as finished by Francis Moereels. The helmet set consist out of resin helmet, vacuum formed wind screen en decals (which also include logos for driver suit both McLaren & Hesketh years) and is available in 1/8, 1/12 & 1/20. Helmet shown, is 1/8 version.
Francis really put some effort into this one, as the nice finish shows...

Re: bestbalsakits releases & ongoing projects
And further with the next transdecal we'll add to our rapidly growing list (nr 16 already, this is!)
Subject: Wrangler Silverstone 1978 Kristoffersen/Sindel decal to fit Tamiya Porsche 934
Where do I stand: decal is drawn & test fitted on car. Now need to choose colors, & adjust some tech stuff before i can send to printers.
Expected release: end of summer.

I can vow for the quality of the Hunt helmet. I have one already in 1/8 and it is a beauty !!!! And to have Hunt figure decals in 1/8 scale at the same time, ...priceless ! So pleased that it is waiting in my big M23 box !!
Best,
Steve Mohlenkamp

Hello Wim,
do you plan on offering any other driver decals for the helmet except Hunt? I know a lot of the Tamiya 1:12 decal sheets include decals for a helmet, but not all of them! Also, other forms of helmets? To suit the 90's F1 kits for example..
regards,
Felix

Re: bestbalsakits releases & ongoing projects
few weeks ago, i received 2nd batch of 3D printed parts for my 1/12 Aston Martin Project 218 engine: the exhaust system was still missing. Well, now it ain't )
I have been cleaning/tweaking parts for last few days and only need to clean both valve heads & engine block before I can send to caster for repro. I decided on which rivets to include, and ordered 1st batch of them
Also, wrangler decal went trough some severe modifications, and is now @ printers.
@felix: don't think i'll do in near future. Hunt decals were only made because i made hunt helmet. And hunt helmet was only made to test 3D drawing & 3D printing. Now i know (bit of) both of them, no need to do helmets anymore.
I'll do some easy transparts for 1/12 cars, and then start 1/12 camel datsun pace/bob sharp car.
Some pics of engine: i counted somewhere near 90 parts - having internal detail helps of course - and I will be adding over 200 metal simulated hex nuts with stud in 3 sizes + some custom made metal hardware parts (20+) to connect the lucas fuel injection & metering unit.

Re: bestbalsakits releases & ongoing projects
last update before parts are sent to caster: just a quick fit using some some prepped parts (exhaust) & other duplicate parts to test fitment of exhaust system.
Used as little prepped parts as needed, would need to clean again after dismantling. Other detail parts are left out, they have been test fitted previously.
