Tyrrell 012 Reddish Purple RAL 3003

Post by little-cars »

Hi,

Am looking to build Martin Brundle's Tyrrell 012 from the 1984 Detroit GP.

Tameo list the colour as Reddish Purple - RAL 3003

http://www.tameokits.com/en/prodotti-mo ... ref=SLK033

Does anyone have a real world paint match for that color ?

Many Thanks,
Paul Fitzmaurice

I would think Tamiya TS11 "Maroon" is the right color for the 1984 Brundle Tyrrell.

Hi Paul,
First of all Happy New Year and good to see you doing some modelling buddy. Just give Steve(Zero paints) a bell with the RAL code and I,m sure he will mix it for you.

Hi Alex,

Happy New Year to you as well, hope you had a good Christmas.

Have been sorting out the mess in the Annex and keep finding kit's that I'd forgotten I had.
I wouldn't like to guess you how many 1/43rd kit I now have stashed away under the desk!
Not to mention the plastic kits I keep finding like a Protar 1/24th MP4/2C with the M... decals!

I am trying to get some unfinished models finished and build some of my favorite cars to ignite the building spark!

I realised Steve does the RAL colours after I posted, so will probably order some tomorrow. The Tamiya colour is too purple. From the photos it looks like a dark red with a hint of brown and hint of purple mixed in.

I assume you will have a display at the Milton Keynes show this year, so will see you there.

Also, have to see you about Automodellismo in April ( http://www.hamex.co.uk/Automodellismo/A ... lismo.html ).

Thanks,
Paul
