Looks very nice. Those pics make me a bit frustrated, at the moment I am building the Smer kit and trying to study & scratch build parts that are beautifully produced in the Heller kit. It really can be built into a good replica right out of the box, as DarylH has demonstrated!
The "Kit" style of model making have become popular, bringing models within the reach of the unskilled and ill-equipped. -Pratley, Scale Model Cars (1956)

Nice bit of motorsport History... No Number for the car??
I too have the smer kit, picked it up in the HLJ sale a while back and it looks poor by comparison to the Heller kit...
Well done on your build
Dede.

Re: Speed build: Talbot-Lago 4.5L GP
The decals were very bad so I had to improvise. Since the numbers could change from race to race I think it was not unusual to see a car of that era without a number when it got to the track. I may wander through my decal books to see if I have some suitable replacements that I can steal from another sheet.Dede wrote:Nice bit of motorsport History... No Number for the car??

I have also just been reminded that there was an article on the Talbot-Lago in MRRN which I had completely forgot about I will pull that out of the library later and may be adding a few details then.

That is one sweet build Daryl,as already commented it's nice to see something other than the modern F1 stuff,I have a 43rd Starter kit of the 1935 Le mans Lagonda and it's been a very refreshing change from building modern era stuff, cars with cycle fender mud guards a wire wheels and great big head lights ohh those were the days.
