I just picked up a 1/12 Tamiya Porsche 934.
My question is if I want to convert this kit into the 1977 Jagermeister Porsche 911 Carrera RSR in the picture below. Would it be within accuracy if I made the proper conversions to the fenders on this 934 Tamiya kit and change the engine over to a Normally aspirated engine?

Are you sure it's "just" a 911 ? then you should remove the turbo.
But a 934 converted to group 5 looks exactly the same, then you just need to modify the body and rear wheels.
But the converted these things back and forth on a regular basis so it'S alwqas hard to tell...

and Ive been asking around on Facebook and they have been saying is a "RSR"
Most have been saying its a RSR because of the fenders. Then others say its doesn't matter what bodywork is on it, it only matters what the car specs was originally built to, is what name you call it...

Re: Converting a 1/12 Tamiya Porsche 934 into a 911 Carrera
Then you will have some work to do on the engine.
Here you can see the tranformation of the car...pretty interesting. I really like the "normal" RSR body. Will for sure make a Tamiya 934 transformtaon in an RSR or 934/5 pretty soon.

You will need to transform your engine from sonething like this:
to this
Looks nearly impossible...maybe an Otaki Porsche could help or is there a dicast to steal the engine from ??
btw...super nice looking RSR

THIS is the version I must do !!!

Re: Converting a 1/12 Tamiya Porsche 934 into a 911 Carrera
If you look on Racing Sports Cars they always give the chassis number (if known) and for this car it shows only as normally aspirated - in 3 widely different bodies over a four year span.daniel wrote:Are you sure it's "just" a 911 ? then you should remove the turbo.

Will take a look this evening in the Barth bible.
https://www.amazon.de/Porsche-934-935-k ... 649&sr=8-1
There are all cars with chassis numbers and the different changes they made through the years.
Maybe my RSR body is something for you?
