Porsche 2.1 RSR Turbo dials: info needed

Post by bestbalsakits »

As i'll be doing the decal sheet to fit 1/8 eidai/entex Porsche 2.1 RSR Turbo, i wonder what the dials in the dash are for.
In center, the big one on the left is oil meter, combining its pressure & temperature. Right one is rev counter. Small (black) dial to the right of rev counter seems to be water temp. But i don't have a clue what the two white ones on left & right side are for. Anybody knows?

I am no expert on this car, but as it is turbocharged, one of them should be for the boost.

I was guessing turbo boost too, but in this picture the sticker says "Benzindruck" ( fuel pressure ).

thank you all...

Strange in Jaykays picture, dymo label above dial right hand side of rev counter, says oil(?temp?), while that info is already in big dial left of rev counter. Why twice? Big one broken?

In Daniels pictures, both small white dials left & right seem to have same pressure scale: 0 - 0.5 - 1 - 1.5kg/cm². So one of them probably is fuel pressure, other might be turbo pressure?

Also , what does that dymo: GEBL'X'SE or GEBL'A'SE mean?

I am pretty sure that the info "Oil temp" is not meant for the instrument but for the orange /red light next to it (warning lamp)

What Miko says regarding the label. Right hand side should be the boost gauge since that's also where the "Dampfrad" is ;)

picture taken last week of the car in the Porsche museum. The dial far right is for the boost pressure (Ladedruck) . The dial right to the rev counter is for the gear temperature.

Thank you all for your input, should get me on the way...

Meanwhile, i started with drawing these decals. But what a pita...
Original decals don't fit at all, so have to start from scratch to get a decent set. I'll be doing the nr22 Le Mans car.

In pics below, there are some (design) errors that will get corrected
- no black border on nr 22 on hood (just here for visiblity so i can see how it fits)
- no green between blue lines (just there for better view on fitment). Decals will come without red areas, customers will need to paint these areas. So why green and not red? I ran out of magenta on my printer, so no red available ;-)
- Few wrinkles on bumber corners: i never use microsol while developing, so it almost impossible to lay decals 100% flat, especially in these difficult areas. Also, seen of the size of the decals, i'm using thick decal paper with white background so i get a little more stiffness but easier handling.
- where wheel arc decals meet bumper decal, i needed to push wheel arc decals a little more towards the fender for perfect alignment. Has been noticed & corrected only after pics were taken ;-)
