A very nice, clean, attractive build! Your perseverance paid off. Definitely "a looker", Shaun.

And a bit nostalgic for some geezers like me. I remember when every Gulf petrol station in the neighborhood was painted in these same sky blue & orange colours, in support of the team's racing efforts.

Thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Chris

Very nice build!
I'm a bit puzzled by the Tamiya sticker. Is that for the paint used?

Note to self....should get around to build one of those Fujimi 917s...

No I just made the mistake to actually sick the sticker down on the card a while ago. Now it's in every build no matter what make the cars are.

Hi Shaun,

amazing and thanks for the link to your WIP - instabookmarked for future reference. The only thing worth noting,
so far I didn't have any issues with separating the parts from their sprues. Seemed to go ok, with nothing broken
off, however, lots of sanding afterwards. Probably easier to be able to remove excess vs. adding / recreating bits
that aren't there anymore. And, I was surprised about the post regarding the bonnet. Not only is the outlet in the
bonnet off-center, but the entire bonnet is not symmetrical. In that reference shot it appears as if the top right
corner reaches way higher than the left side. I never realized that. Either that is a botched restauration (we all
know how those better than perfect restorations / kit cars go) or it really was like that - need to dive into my
archives and study that.
But then again, surprisingly none of the cars (1/12 or 1/24) in my stash are Gulf cars :P...

Again great save on what seemed a dog at the outset.

Looks really nice.

The only things I would suggest to REALLY finish it off are to paint the tips of the exhausts to match the rest of the system (in reality the pipes go through the upside-down "v" bracket so they would still be matt white), and give the front cooler grill a bit of a wash.

It's a great looking car nevertheless!
