Pics: Model Expo Australia
hi everyone,
pics from the annual Model Expo in Melbourne, Australia last weekend.
winner of the large scale class, superb 1/12 Porsche 935
a fine 2nd place for f1m member Shayne (Shunter) in the smaller scale class
Southern Cross Miniatures stand generated much interest with their 1/20 W125 kit. A superb kit, the 1st batch of 300 has nearly sold out in quick time, with a 2nd batch of 300 expected in stock soon.
How to explain this to the missus? special show-discount on the u-boat was too good to refuse...
Many twins and quadruplets ended up as u-boat crews ; )
Superb beached u-boat diorama, you could almost hear the water splashing and the seagulls squawking...
I recall paging through the Revell catalogue as a young boy, and eyeing off this motorised P40 kit...
In amongst all the war stuff, a message of peace from our pink friend

Was the Delta an MFH kit? That looked great, too. Lots of outstanding models! If we only had that kind of interest in F1/WSC/Rally here in the states...

Great pictures. Looks like an interesting show! Good selection across the subjects.
I really like the sentence on one of the modelsheets - "early removal will forfeit any awards". As a (former) show owner it was more than irritating to see people pack their models before the show closes.
