Historic Minardi Day (25/06/2016)
Since I am back in Italy for few months, I managed to arrive in time to attend the "Historic Minardi Day" held in Imola on 25th June.
It was a very hot day, over 3000 spectators with full access to the paddock, garages and some grandstands.
Almost all the Minardi were there for us to see and be admired, unfortunately the M188B was missing which is a pity as I saw it racing right here in 1989 from the Tosa corner.
Other than Minardi they threw in some extras, like the Williams FW07, Ferrari 643, Ferrari F92A, Fondmetal Fomet1 of 1991 among the others.
Being able to roam free the paddock meant you could speak to drivers and get autographs and photos, I personally met Pierluigi Martini, Gianni Morbidelli, Jarno Trulli, Giovanni Lavaggi, Adrian Campos, Luis Perez Sala and also saw Paolo Barilla and Tarso Marques. I was hoping for Nannini but he was absent.
I was in the pits when they fired up the M189, damn what a music!!!

Wow, that's awesome. Any chance they had the post sale cars? Specifically looking for 2003 minardi.

Wonderful pictures, thanks for posting! That must have been a great event. Too bad there's no F1 race at Imola anymore (and no Minardi for that matter...)

Great event!
Thank you for posting your pictures!
I could not be there in Imola as I was in Goodwood at the FoS
I hope next years Giancarlo Minardi will choose a "free" weekend
