Newman Haas Lola T93 Speedway, Tamiya, 1/20
Hi,
I managed to finish another one for the occasion of this years Indy 500 - ok, 6 days too late, but still... This is the Tamiya Dick Simon Speedway kit of the Lola T93 Indycar, but thanks to Indycals I built the Newman Haas version.
I painted it with TS26 and T14, Mr. Super Clear Gloss on top. The hardest part was adding the piping which I considered necessary, because otherwise it would have looked really empty under the cowling. When I had it finished, I had to remove half of it and do it again, a bit simpler this time, since otherwise the cowling would not have fit (if you also intend to do this, remove all excess plastic on the inside of the cowling where the additional parts for the outlet on the sidepods are glued in, to make some room for the piping). The exhausts were packed in some kind of heat shield which I tried to replicate.
Hope you like it.
Here are two pics together with the road course version I built 10 years ago - from the distance it looks fine, but if I looks closer, I see where I improved over those years
