RIP Justin Wilson

Post by Bigasshammm »

In a Massaesque crash Justin Wilson had the nose cone of another car impact his helmet while turning onto the straight. Seems he was then unconscious and went straight into the wall. Took the safety crews a bit of time to remove him and they all looked frantic. Later was seen on the medevac heli being transported to a hospital.

No real news about the situation but when they don't say anything I always fear the worst. Let's keep hoping for good news. Please don't speculate unless there's a source as well as what I've seen on Facebook already is just heresay.

Per an update he suffered a serious head injury and is in critical condition in a coma.

Some days life is a real bitch.

Hope he pulls through.

Oh my goodness, that's awful. And this was such as freak accident with a big piece of flying debris from Karam's car that struck him.

RIP. You will be missed.

terrible news! May the family have the strength to deal with this terrible loss and R.I.P Justin. Racing is still dangerous and always will be, no matter how much people try to prevent the dangers. However things have certainly improved since the terrible days of the 60's and early seventies. New rules always bring new challenges and the part of the chassis disintegrating on impact has certainly reduced the chance a driver gets hurt. But it only is a matter of time until something similar will happen again. There is just no way to tie down everything from flying on to the track or even worse, in to the crowds.
