I would suspect the perception of a lighter blue is just the quality of the exposure potentially compounded by the effects of time.hquednau wrote:I had never seen this detail before- in the last pic it looks as though it was painted a lighter blue?

Always fun to build models?
A very old kit so the plastic has become very brittle. The blue plastic doesn't bend at all, it breaks instantly. I tried to make holes for the seat belts using a motor tool. I didn't apply much pressure as I didn't want the plastic to melt but it was enough for the side of the seat to break. So be careful if you have the old kit in the stash. This one had both the electric and the scale engine in the box so I guess it is one of the early ones.

Re: GB WIP. A 1976 P34 time for decals
Using decals from Indycals. Michael's decals are a joy to work with.

Looks good Bjorn. Are the tyre markings stenciled on? They look great!

Re: GB WIP. A 1976 P34 Tape residue
I guess that I am one of few builders that want tape residue on my kit
I needed a strip of Duct tape and some residue of removed Duct tape on the car so I made an experiment. I had some decal film that was supposed to be aluminium colour so I used that for the tape strip. For the tape residue I used some strips of white ALPS printed decals that is smeared out with Ethyl Acetate on a brush. Not perfect but perhaps I can add some white paint to it.

I think it is duct tape and the blue is reflected on ithquednau wrote:I had never seen this detail before- in the last pic it looks as though it was painted a lighter blue?

Hi Orso,
Cool detail this duct tape on the bodywork, i like this kind of details that bring ' life' to a model.
