Re: Ebbro Lotus 49C
I also looked at some pictures again on motorsport.com.
And you seem to be right.
Ebbro now only writes the Monaco and Great Britain GPs on its packaging.
The numbers 20/21 were used in the Beligien GP.
In addition, the side air intakes were already in use here - I also have a big problem distinguishing the Lotus 49C and the Lotus 72B.

Re: Ebbro Lotus 49C
Isn't that picture a Lotus 72?
Side pods, inboard front brakes wedge nose. The picture of the decal sheet shows #3, 8 and 28.
Here is the 49B that Rindt raced in Belgium.

Re: Ebbro Lotus 49C
I have checked out the Gold Leaf decals in the Ebbro kits and the sizes are:
49B ~ 21x10 mm
49C ~ 30x14 mm
72C ~ 32x15 mm
49B ~ 21x10 mm
49C ~ 30x14 mm
72C ~ 32x15 mm

I hope it is a Lotus 72 - then my brain would be in a slightly better condition againOrso wrote:Isn't that picture a Lotus 72?

Then surely only the caption is wrong ...
Then it looks like the decals for the 72C are the best solution. Unless the decals from Pattos Place fit 1:1.Orso wrote:I have checked out the Gold Leaf decals in the Ebbro kits and the sizes are:

Re: Ebbro Lotus 49C
Just check my kit and decal sheet, you can do the Fittipaldi version but the decal on the sheet is written «Emarson».......
Wonder why their is no aftermarket decals for this one

Re: Ebbro Lotus 49C
Today the delivery is eagerly awaited. Unfortunately without the desired result.
The decals from Indycals from the Lotus 72 cannot be used.
But see for yourself in the pictures.
The Gold Leaf logo (overall) from the Ebbro Kit Lotus49C is approx. 29mm. The writing on the inside is only approx. 27mm.
The Gold Leaf font from Indycals (Lotus 72) is about 29mm.
It just doesn't fit.
So we have to wait for the decals from Pattos.
What would be another possibility to make the decals yourself, but it already fails here because of the font and certainly also because of the quality of the decals. This is always ok for smaller decals, but not with this size ... In addition, I would have to hit the red shade exactly because I could only print on white decal paper.

Re: Ebbro Lotus 49C
Michael from indycals is a member here. He could probably resize the decals for you.
That shouldn't be too much work.

Re: Ebbro Lotus 49C
I wouldn't set my hopes up to high with Pattos. I can't find any 1/20 scale decals and the font on the decals is wrong on the Lotus Transporter sheet.

This is currently taking away all hope from me.Orso wrote:I wouldn't set my hopes up to high with Pattos. I can't find any 1/20 scale decals and the font on the decals is wrong on the Lotus Transporter sheet.

Re: Ebbro Lotus 49C
There were "fill in" decals with the Gold Leaf text for the Lotus 72 so I expect the same for the 49C now the kit is out. I can't remember who did those decals though.
