1:43 F1 Car Display Cases
Re: 1:43 F1 Car Display Cases
My prefered 1:43 baseplates are BBR as well, most of my models are displayed in these boxes, nothing to worry about F1 models, they fit perfect as you can see in my 43 thread.
For some special models i went to a company which work with acrylglas and they produced me a couple of high quality boxes with 15mm thick CNC milled baseplates and handmade 3mm thick covers, but their price was several times more like a BBR box!

That is because these cases have room for identification plates as provided in most Tameo kitsdr_gn wrote:I just checked the dimensions - seems very long for displaying an F1 car.dgwoodward2 wrote:Another vote for BBR. They offer both a black surface and gray surface. Personal preference is for the gray.

These boxes are looking nice, how much did you pay for these?
What type is the yellow car you did infront? Looks like a Ferrari F310 from Schumi, but yellow??
Re: 1:43 F1 Car Display Cases
These boxes have been quiet expensive, around 50€ each, i used them for some client works i did.
The yellow F310 is a client work, a replica of a very limited model especially made for the Ferrari owners club of Thailand, painted in Ferrari giallo. Did not even knew that they exist, but the client gave me some pics as guideline.

I second the BBR cases, use them for all my 1/43 built cars.

Re: 1:43 F1 Car Display Cases
I have used these guys for years.
They will build an acrylic display box to any dimensions you specify.
I like this approach b/c the boxes are much nicer than cheap injected plastic stuff, and you can dial in the dimensions exactly to fit your tastes and the subject matter.
I have them for 1/20 F1 cars, 1/12 F1 cars, 1/43 F1 cars, 1/20 armor, 1/48 aircraft, etc. etc.

I just thought I'd mention that acrylic is pretty easy to work with, if you have a few tools. it can be cut with a table saw and the pieces glued together. I've been building my own for the models I've completed. I also dabble in woodworking which helps out, but perhaps this will inspire someone to give it a go. you can also search youtube for tutorials.
Just a thought.
