2 things to note about my method. 1 it is rather permanent which is what you want but the negative is that the area beneath the carrier can be a bit glossy

Permanent is good, right, but don`t you think that the gloss is the carrier film itself? It`s allways a bit shiny, even with the strong softener, but i guess it could be fixed with a light coat of flat clear.
