JamesB, I sent you a PM about the helmets.
I see the photos about the RE30's nose but I can't see whats "out" on the model. Probably as I'm not at the nose stage yet.

Question on aftermarket decals. I've an order in on HLJ for sets from Shunko (BT50); Museum collection (BT50 & 51 thought it might work for a BT49D; and the Ligier JS11 as it has the white bits); and Studio 27 x2 for the Renaults. All are on backorder for over a month now. Not sure if they are ever going to be in stock.

I can find some and some alternatives elsewhere just wondering on others experience.

Is there any advantage on getting one brand over the other for a particular car?

Indycals could be a good alternative for some of them - Michael has the BT50, the Renault, Lotus 91, Ferrari, and Ligier JS11. https://www.indycals.net/decals/f1.html

Yes, Indycals for all those decals!
the nose is a really slight difference... just sanding a bit.

Ok. Panic time. Was the RE30b painted the same yellow as the RE20 and RS01? I've just painted both bodies with Zero paint and noticed it's a bit "green". Then I noticed the bottle says RS01 to RS20. Argh.... also noticed it's cracking the Tamiya white primer. I've a good mind to just feck it and use Humbrol 154 insignia yellow...

Well, it's TS16. More lemon than the TS46, but yellow enough.
I don't think they made it more orange in 1981 or 12982, but anyway if prier went off, then discussion is over.
I would suggest to use decanted TS16 with the airbrush. Humbrol does not have a suitable yellow IMHO.
DEcanting is easier than it seems I spray straight inside a bottle the size of a micro set one, leave degas a bit, and then straight to the a-brush....

I strongly recommend F'Artifice decals for the JS-11. Opaque, pliable, shiny, and a perfect fit. All white areas included, and no precise trimming necessary. Mac has 4 sets in stock.

Where can i order those decals?

Back to Renault yellow. Original kit instruction is X8 yellow which translates in most charts to Humbrol 69. I think thats a bit orange though. This is where im at at the moment.

From the top, Humbrol 69, Tamiya sprue, Zero paint on body, humbrol 99.
